CEC Advent Recollection.

In preparation for the birth of our Savior and Lord in the spirit of Christmas a day for recollection was organized by CEC at the Redemptorists Mater College, Marathahalli on the 26th November 2022, this being a day before the season of Advent.

An invitation was sent to all co-workers and friends of CEC, past and present inviting them to participate and welcome in the new season. We had 15 guests on the occasion.

The location was beautiful and the environment conducive to the occasion. We started with coffee and a snack at 9:30.

Fr Chinna Rao the spiritual director of CEC led the proceedings. After a break we gathered together and Fr Chinna Rao explained to us the history of the Redemptorist Mater College. A unique place for diocesan priests with a spirit of evangelization. Everything in the environment had a symbolism that centered around Jesus.

We were also led beautifully into a time of repentance and encouraged to make our confession in preparation for Advent. Fr Chinna Rao explained to everyone what confession was and that the priest conducting the confession represented the people before God. Most of the people attending made their confession and received the forgiveness that Jesus brings with his birth.

After this we spent time in fellowship and in exploring the premises. This was followed by Holy Mass.

Following Mass we gathered again for prayer and joined the priests and novitiates in their time of prayer. Fr Casmir Francis D’Souza the Director explained to everyone how they prepared the environment to be conducive to prayer and the reading of scripture. We then spent a time praying scripture and singing the scriptures together.

Everyone was edified with Fr Casmir’s talk and the time spent in prayer. It was now time for lunch and also a time of fellowship.

We thank God for such occasions presented to us to get closer to our creator and welcome him into our lives again. Another step in our journey closer to our maker……
