At the Catholic Enquiry Centre (CEC). We experience the joy of reaching out to hundreds of people, many belonging to other faiths, to spread the great message of God’s love for us, His children.

Dear Child of God, I request you to lift your hearts to God and join me as I pray: Loving Father, pour out your abundant LOVE into the hearts of the reader and the hearers through the Holy Spirit, whom you have given as your gift to us. Dear Holy Spirit, fill them with divine wisdom to know and love you. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Farewell dear soldier for Christ!

It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the demise of Rev Fr Varghese Paul SJ, who served as the President of the ACEC-I (Association of Catholic Enquiry Centres, India) for several years and hence was also closely associated with our Archdiocesan Catholic Enquiry Centre, Bangalore. We learned on the 10th of April 2021, that he had died at 7:30 AM after being admitted at the GMERS Hospital, Gotri, following COVID and related ill-health. While there is much written about his contribution and accomplishments from several roles that he managed, we know from our association with him that he was an ardent proclaimer for Christ Jesus and earnestly wanted to make Him known among people of other faiths. He always cherished his experiences at the Catholic Information Services Society (CISS) in Ahmedabad, which he had so lovingly created and grown into a full-fledged “Meet-Christ” evangelization centre, propagating and his literary works, the fruits of which have nourished our Church’s missionary efforts especially for our unique mission. Along with the CEC Family, I can vouch from my heart that for Rev Fr Varghese Paul SJ, our Archdiocesan CEC Bangalore held a profound place in his evangelization programme. We knew this because of his ready-replies to our queries, his endearing and educative messages for our Annual Reports (Magazine) and his thoughtful participation in workshops and meetings with our Co-workers where-in he freely shared his wisdom and encouragement for the propagation of the faith. At this time of sadness, I gratefully lift up in prayer, a quiet song of praise and thanksgiving for all that Rev Fr Varghese Paul has been for each of us, as a loving mentor, Guru and guide; as a sturdy companion in our journey for making Lord Jesus known all across our nation. Rest in peace dear Father, we salute you for leading us as an untiring soldier for Christ…
