At the Catholic Enquiry Centre (CEC). We experience the joy of reaching out to hundreds of people, many belonging to other faiths, to spread the great message of God’s love for us, His children.

Dear Child of God, I request you to lift your hearts to God and join me as I pray: Loving Father, pour out your abundant LOVE into the hearts of the reader and the hearers through the Holy Spirit, whom you have given as your gift to us. Dear Holy Spirit, fill them with divine wisdom to know and love you. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

St. Anthony’s Friary church wore a festive look for CEC SUNDAY 2011. The Alter also proclaimed the CEC Mission.

The gift of the Good News is a treasure of one’s faith. But, just as people keep gold ornaments, money and valuables in a safe deposit locker in a bank, they do not share it with others, said the Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras .Archbishop of Bangalore, while delivering the sermon during the Holy Eucharist(Mass) to celebrate CEC Sunday at the St. Anthony’s Friary Church, Koramangala, on Sunday, July 10,2011.

We should not hesitate to speak of Jesus, as the Lord had said “Go and proclaim the Good News,” the Archbishop said and added “but we should not force it on other people.”

Stating that the Catholic Enquiry Centre (CEC) was primarily aimed at non-Catholics …especially those who did not know Jesus Christ or were “seeking to know him”….Rev. Bernard Moras exhorted the congregation to” open the treasure and share it with others.” “Share Lord Jesus everyday, with at least one person of another faith” he encouraged those gathered. Jesus prayed for unity. “Love one another as I have Loved you,” the Archbishop remined the congregation of what the Lord had said and proceeded to narrate the parable of the sower--- which was also the Gospel for this memorable Sunday.

With Psalm 64: “Some seed fell into good soil and produced its crop”--- and Psalm 19: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path” flashing on the LCD screens, the Eucharist got off to a start with the Entrance Hymn---“Arise, exult! Ring out the bells to God”.

Fr. J. Arokianathan, CEC Spiritual Director, in his welcome address, said evangelization and proclamation were the basic premise of CEC . It was the duty of CEC to spread the Good News through the media and communication to those thirsting for the truth. “What is the answer to our life’s problems, “he asked and answered it himself---“Jesus!”, and went on to elaborate the role of the Catholic Enquiry Centre at the Infant Jesus Shrine in Viveknagar.

Rev.Fr.James Kallaracken with our beloved Archbishop receiving symbolic offerings from CEC Staff and Co-workers

As the theme was centered on Evangelization, His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras led the congregation with special prayers especially “for all those who seek the Lord and wish to know more about him” through the concelebrated Eucharist.

Ms. Parimala Selvaraj, a CEC co- worker, led the prayer for the Evangelization Mission of CEC and that of the Archdiocese through the “Prayer of the Faithful”. The CEC co- workers offered symbolic instruments like the Holy Bible, CEC Contact cards, pamphlets, handouts, banners along with the Bread and Wine, during a meaningful offertory. Led by Rev. Sr. C.L. Clare, the CEC co-workers then formally committed themselves to the CEC Evangelization Mission by making a formal “Promise” before the Holy Altar and everyone gathered.

After the receiving of the Lord Jesus in the form of bread at “Communion” Sr. C.L.Clare dsp, Directress, Catholic Enquiry centre, proposed a vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to the Archbishop for his homily and support to CEC. She also made an appeal to the gathering, saying there was need for collaborators, co-workers and seekers. “Each one can bring one more person to the Lord.” She added.

The Eucharist concluded with the Hymn:, “Let all proclaim the glory of the Father” with hearts and minds singing praises to the Triune God.
