CEC SUNDAY MESSAGE 2015

Basically, CEC is a ministry of the direct evangelization mainly through specially prepared, graded literature on Jesus Christ and the Bible. Evangelization is precisely living and proclaiming Jesus and his message rooted and founded on the Bible.

St Pope John Paul || called for New Evangelization. I do not remember the exact words which he used to describe New Evangelization. But I remember vaguely that he said, New Evangelization calls for new ardor, new zeal and renewed enthusiasm.

New Evangelization also calls for new ways and means of communicating Jesus and his message. New Evangelization also means thinking out of box reaching out to new frontiers.

The Evangelization both new and old begins with us, with me. As Pope Francis has written in his Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudam (the joy of the gospel),”the best incentive for sharing the Gospel comes from contemplating it with love, lingering over its pages and reading it with the heart.” Pope Francis is himself a model for us in being an eminent evangelizer. From his daily homilies and other communities we can unmistakably conclude that all his uttering and written words come from contemplating the Gospel with Love and Reading it with his heart.

CEC Sunday is a special occasion to remind us and others of our primary vocation of evangelization as Christian. In the Gospels according to Mathew we hear Jesus’ call: “Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you.”(Mathew28:20)

CEC Sunday is also an occasion to thank God to praise and adore him for the wonderful things the Good Lord has accomplished through each of us during the past years and to pray for this continue showers of blessings.

CES Bangalore can be proud of eminent Directress like Sr. Grazia, Sr Margaret and Sr. Clare C.L., dedicated and committed staff personnel and voluntary co-workers.

I have had the privilege of being associated with CECs in India from 1986, even before forming of the Association of Catholic Enquiry Centers, India (ACECI) and in working closely with Sr. Margaret and Sr. Clare. Their inspiring and dynamic leadership has made CEC Bangalore to Flourish and go From Strength in the ministry of direct evangelization.

I take the occasion to thank the outgoing Directress Sr. Clare C.L., for her outstanding services not only t CEC Bangalore but also to the Association of the Catholic Enquiry Center, India (ACECI) as its Vice President for the past three years. I also welcome the new Directress Sr.MagaretCriz, Who comes with rich experience of working both in CEC’s and in ACSCI National Officer, New Deli. Mat the Good and bless them both abundantly.
